Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who made her name with clever raps that tackled sexuality and racial identities with an edgy, comical perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. In addition to classical and jazz, she began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she studied writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin during her time in Beijing. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she completed her degree. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also contained songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. After having a great career as a musician and songwriter, she took on the character of actress. Alongside early TV shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
