Tony Rodriguez, who was the first to arrive at the accident scene, saw his girlfriend Rudy Washington pulling Ruggs from the wreckage of Ruggs' Corvette. Rodriguez along with Johnny Ellis (both 47) ran to Tintor's 23 year old car, after making sure that Tintor was safe. After smashing two front windows and trying to get Tintor from the car, the duo burst in fires. Rodriguez stated that he was trying to take Tintor out of the vehicle but her door was locked. Tintor is still alive. Rodriguez as well as Ellis stated that when the car caught fire, they were unable to help Tintor's dog and Tintor. "I'm experiencing the sense that I've failed." LA police claim Ruggs was driving at 156mph during the time of Tina's accident, but the speed dropped to 127mph shortly after that. His blood-alcohol level was twice Nevada's legal limit.
